Our Collection of Information

Information collected directly from you.  Generally, you can visit the Shepherd Aero website without entering any personal information.  On certain pages, we may ask you for personal information to provide a service or carry out a transaction that you have requested -- for example, flight training, flight planning and trip support, aircraft management, aircraft ferry services, safety management, owner trustee services, or U.S. Agent for Service registration.

The personal information we collect may include:

  • Contact details, such as your name, title, company/organization name, email address, telephone number, and physical address
  • Information about your company and job function
  • Your email or SMS communication preferences
  • Financial information (including credit card or account information) related to services you've purchased
  • Information such as your nationality and country of residence that allows us to determine your eligibility under export control regulations to receive certain information or services
  • Information used to customize and facilitate your use of our website, including login and technical information
  • Inquiries about and requests for our services
  • Information that assists us in identifying the services that best meet your requirements
  • Event or webinar registration information
  • Feedback from you about our website and our services generally

Website improvement.  We may use your personal information to improve our website and related services, or to make our website easier to use by eliminating the need for you to repeatedly enter the same information or by customizing our website to your particular preferences or interests.

Employment applications.  If you submit a job application or inquiry, we collect information such as your resume or curriculum vitae.  We may use this information throughout Shepherd Aero and its affiliated entities for the purpose of employment consideration.  We will keep the information for future consideration unless you direct us not to do so.

Disclosure to operational partners.  In the course of coordinating flight operations, trip support, or aircraft management on your behalf, we may share limited personal information with third parties directly involved in fulfilling your request -- such as FBOs, ground handlers, maintenance providers, or regulatory bodies.  We provide these parties with only the elements of your information necessary to complete the service requested, and they are prohibited from using it for any other purpose.  We will not share your information with such parties for marketing purposes unless we have obtained your express consent to do so.

Disclosure in connection with transactions.  In connection with certain transactions, we may disclose some or all of your personal information to financial institutions, government entities, or other parties involved in fulfillment of the service requested.

Disclosure in connection with acquisitions or divestitures.  Circumstances may arise where, for strategic or other business reasons, Shepherd Aero reorganizes, sells, or acquires business operations.  Such a transaction may involve disclosure of personal information to prospective or actual purchasers, or receiving it from sellers.  It is Shepherd Aero's practice to seek appropriate protection for information in these types of transactions.
